Ukraine: Moscow conquers village in Dnipro region

Rome, 25 August. (LaPresse) – Moscow claimed on Sunday that it had taken control of another settlement in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region. In a statement, the Russian Defence Ministry said its forces had captured the village of Filiya, located about 6 kilometres (3.7 miles) south of the settlement of Novopavlivka, a key front in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Filiya is located about 2 kilometres (1.2 miles) from the administrative border between Dnipropetrovsk and Ukraine's eastern Donetsk region. In an earlier statement, the Ukrainian General Staff said Russian forces had carried out 33 assaults in the last day near eight settlements on the Novopavlivka front, including Filiya. However, Ukrainian authorities have not commented on Russia's claims.
