New York, Aug. 23 (LaPresse) – The cause of the accident involving a tour bus headed to New York City from Niagara Falls is still under investigation, but mechanical failure has been ruled out.

This was stated by Andre J. Ray, commander of the New York State Police, as reported by CNN. Authorities believe the driver “became distracted, lost control, overcorrected, and ended up in the right emergency lane,” Ray said, adding that it is too early to say whether charges will be filed.

The current death toll stands at five.
