Ukraine: media reports China willing to send peacekeeping troops under UN mandate

Milan, 23 August (LaPresse) – China would be willing to send soldiers to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission under a UN mandate. This was reported by the German newspaper Welt, citing EU diplomatic sources in contact with Chinese government sources. However, the sources stressed that the Beijing government would only be willing to do so “if the peacekeeping forces were established on the basis of a UN mandate”.
