Rome, 23 August (LaPresse) – ‘No French minister insulted Meloni or other Italian ministers as Salvini did against Macron. Personal likes or dislikes do not matter in international relations between friendly and allied countries such as France and Italy, which are even more committed together in this delicate geopolitical phase in Europe and Ukraine: mutual respect is needed’. This was stated to LaPresse by Sandro Gozi, MEP elected in France for Renew and secretary-general of the European Democratic Party, following Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini's attacks on President Emmanuel Macron for his support for sending troops to Ukraine, which led France to summon the Italian ambassador to Paris, Emanuela D'Alessandro.
