Rome, 23 August (LaPresse) – 62% of Israelis believe that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government does not enjoy the confidence of the majority of the population. This is according to a survey by the Israeli newspaper Maariv, which found that only 27% say they have confidence in the government, while 11% say they do not know. As for an agreement on the hostages, 26% of those surveyed believe that the government should sign an agreement immediately, even if only for a partial release, while 46% believe that the government should sign a comprehensive agreement that would end the war in Gaza. Meanwhile, 18% oppose an agreement, believing that the army should continue to fight Hamas even at the risk of the hostages' lives.
