Brussels, August 19 (LaPresse) – “Our sanctions on Russia are targeted. We sanction individuals who are on the list for specific reasons that are very clear even to the Russian administration, and our sanctions are aimed at those sectors that can most affect the Russian war machine. This is the logic behind the sanctions packages we have adopted so far and will continue to adopt. We are maintaining full pressure on Russia until this bloodshed ends,” said European Commission spokesperson Arianna Podestà during the daily press briefing.
She emphasized that “the sanctions keeping pressure on Russia were also one of the topics discussed during yesterday’s meeting in Washington,” and that “Europe will continue to maintain this pressure until we have a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.”
