Brussels, Aug. 19 (LaPresse) – “Ukraine has been and will remain at the top of leaders’ agendas in the weeks and months ahead, as we continue to support efforts for a just and lasting peace. As a first step, Russia must immediately end the violence. Our top priority must be to stop the killings. Whether it is a ceasefire or a truce is secondary. What matters is to maintain pressure through sanctions. If Russia does not comply, it will be more important than ever to keep strong pressure on Russia,” said European Council President António Costa in a press briefing in Lisbon, at the conclusion of today’s EU summit held via videoconference.
