Milan, 17 August (LaPresse) – "We must stop the killings. Putin has many demands, but we do not know them all. If there are as many as we have heard, it will take time to examine them all. It is impossible to do so under the threat of arms. A ceasefire is needed and we must work quickly towards a final agreement. We will discuss this in Washington, D.C. Putin does not want to stop the killings. But he must do so." This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after attending this afternoon's meeting of the so-called “coalition of the willing”, held via video conference. Zelensky joined the meeting from Brussels together with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The video call took place on the eve of Zelensky's visit to Donald Trump in Washington, where several European leaders, including von der Leyen herself, will also travel. Monday's meeting at the White House comes after the mid-August summit between Trump and Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska.
