Milan, 17 August (LaPresse) – French President Emmanuel Macron, at the opening of the video conference meeting of the coalition of the willing that began shortly after 3 p.m., once again called for ‘keeping the pressure’ on Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by French media. Macron also explained that today's meeting is intended to prepare for tomorrow's meeting in Washington between Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. It emerged today that several European leaders will also attend the White House meeting: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The so-called “coalition of the willing” is a group of countries that are willing to contribute to monitoring and supporting any future peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev.
