Milan, 15 August (LaPresse) – Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic reported at a press conference that three foreign nationals were arrested on Thursday evening on charges of assaulting police during a protest, specifying that they were an Italian, a Croatian and a Slovenian citizen. The N1 broadcaster reports that the minister identified the Italian arrested as Alessio Laterza, born in 1980, holder of a temporary residence permit in Serbia and an employee of Microsoft. Dacic also identified the Croatian citizen arrested as Bruno Horvat, who entered Serbia on Thursday evening and is accused of assaulting a member of the gendarmerie in Belgrade on the same night, and the Slovenian citizen as Stanislav Kostic, born in 1986, of Serbian origin, who, according to N1, travelled to Serbia with Horvat. "He completed intelligence studies in the United States and lived and worked in China. He boasts of having participated in demonstrations across Europe,‘ said Dacic. ’So much for the absence of foreign involvement," he concluded. Diplomatic sources confirm that a fellow countryman has been arrested and report that the Italian Foreign Ministry, together with the Italian Embassy in Belgrade, is closely following the case and providing assistance.
