Rome, Aug 13 (LaPresse) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar stated that Israel "will not allow" the implementation of a two-state solution and urged countries advocating for a Palestinian state to "create one within their own territory."
"A Palestinian state in the heart of the Land of Israel would be a solution for those who seek to destroy us. We will not let it happen," Saar said during a briefing from Jerusalem with journalists from Newsmax and other U.S. outlets, according to a statement from his office.
"If major countries like France and Canada wish to establish a Palestinian state within their own territory, they are welcome to do so – they have plenty of space," he added. Saar argued that creating a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital would place Israeli cities in grave danger and push Israel toward indefensible borders. Such a move, he concluded, would be "suicidal" for the Jewish state.
