Washington, Aug 11 (LaPresse) – Donald Trump announced he will meet with Vladimir Putin on Friday in Alaska, and will subsequently consult European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During a press conference at the White House, the former U.S. president stated he intends to tell Putin to “end this war,” emphasizing his goal of seeking a swift resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Trump added that a future meeting could involve himself, Putin, and Zelensky, or just the two warring leaders. He confirmed Zelensky will not attend the first meeting with Putin, but hinted at broader talks to follow. Trump also claimed that a “territorial exchange” between Moscow and Kyiv is under discussion, information he says comes directly from Russia. He criticized Zelensky’s refusal to concede land to Russia as part of a peace deal. Trump’s statements reignite international debate over possible U.S. mediation and the territorial questions at the heart of the ongoing war.
