Tehran (Iran), 11 August (LaPresse/AP) – Talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be ‘technical’ and ‘complex,’ according to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic ahead of the agency's visit. Relations between the two sides deteriorated after the 12-day war waged by Israel and the United States in June, during which important Iranian nuclear facilities were bombed. On 12 June, the IAEA's governing board accused Tehran of violating its non-proliferation obligations, one day before Israeli air strikes on Iran triggered the conflict. The IAEA has not issued any statements on the visit by the agency's deputy director, who does not have any scheduled access to Iranian nuclear sites.
