Earthquake in Turkey: One dead and 29 injured after 6.1 magnitude quake

Rome, Aug. 10 (LaPresse) – The latest toll from the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that struck the province of Balikesir in western Turkey stands at one dead and 29 injured. The quake was also felt in Istanbul and Izmir. The victim – said Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya – was an 81-year-old man who died after being pulled from the rubble. This was reported by Anadolu. As for the injured, “their conditions are not serious,” Yerlikaya added.
