Milan, August 10th (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated the urgency of a lasting peace in Ukraine, stating that a mere pause in hostilities is no longer enough and that an immediate ceasefire is necessary. Zelensky expressed full support for President Trump's position, who has shown the will to bring an end to the war. According to Zelensky, Ukraine has always backed Trump's proposals since February, including all ceasefire formats.
In his evening speech, Zelensky also commented on the ongoing talks in the United Kingdom between Ukrainian security officials, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, and European partners, describing them as "constructive." During these discussions, all key points were heard and concerns were taken into account. Zelensky emphasized that the path to peace must be defined together with Ukraine, as the country refuses to be excluded from decisions about its future.
Zelensky also accused Putin of seeking forgiveness for the occupation of Ukrainian territories, including the regions of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Crimea. The Ukrainian president stated that they would not allow Russia to divide Ukraine again, warning that if Russia succeeds in its current attempt, it will not stop. "Knowing Russia, where there is a second attempt, there will be a third," he stated, reaffirming Ukraine's firm resolve to maintain its positions.
