Rome, August 10th (LaPresse) – "We remain faithful to the principle that international borders should not be altered by force. The current line of contact should be the starting point for negotiations. We reiterate that Russia's free and illegal invasion of Ukraine constitutes a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, the Helsinki Final Act, the Budapest Memorandum, and the subsequent commitments undertaken by Russia. We emphasize our unwavering commitment to the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Ukraine." This is stated in the joint declaration of President Macron, Prime Minister Meloni, Chancellor Merz, Prime Minister Tusk, Prime Minister Starmer, President von der Leyen, and President Stubb on peace for Ukraine ahead of the scheduled meeting between President Trump and President Putin.
