Earthquakes, magnitude 6.1 tremor in Turkey

Rome, Aug. 10 (LaPresse) – A strong earthquake struck Turkey. According to the Anadolu news agency, citing the website of the national agency for disaster and emergency management (AFAD), the magnitude was 6.1. The epicenter was located in the Sindirgi district in the province of Balikesir in the western part of the country. The quake struck at 7:53 p.m. local time (6:53 p.m. in Italy) at a depth of 11 kilometers.
