Milan, Aug. 3 (LaPresse) – Ghazi Hamad, a senior member of Hamas’s political bureau, told Al Jazeera that the wave of Western nations moving to recognize a Palestinian state is a consequence of the events of October 7, 2023. Hamad asked the interviewer: “Why are so many countries now recognizing a Palestinian state? Before October 7, had any country ever dared to recognize one?” He added: “The fruits of October 7 are what pushed the entire world to open its eyes to the Palestinian cause, and it is now moving strongly in that direction — namely, that the Palestinian people are a people who deserve a homeland.”
