Milan, 26 July (LaPresse) – Russia has requested a UN Security Council meeting for 31 July. This was reported by the first deputy permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, during a Security Council meeting on Ukraine, according to the Tass news agency. "We have long consistently proposed resolving the Ukrainian crisis through diplomacy. But you (the West, ed.) are not satisfied with this, since you are ready to continue fighting Russia using the hands of the Ukrainians," Polyansky said, addressing representatives of Western countries. ‘We will discuss this in detail at a separate meeting that we have requested for 31 July,’ he continued, adding that ‘on that occasion, we propose to focus on discussing actions that undermine the search for diplomatic ways to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, including attempts to undermine the direct negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul.’
