Milan, 26 July (LaPresse) – "The latest demonstrations for democracy represent a turning point since the beginning of the war: politics is returning to Ukraine. And they prove that Kiev is not Moscow. Putin in his place would have persecuted the protesters; on the contrary, Zelensky accepts the reasons for the protests and is changing his plans." This was stated in an interview with Corriere della Sera by former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, who was removed from office by President Volodymyr Zelensky 10 months ago. When asked if he feels like a victim of Zelensky's centralising policy, Kuleba replied no: 'Not at all. Our constitution provides for the president to dismiss a minister. But the last five days have been truly dramatic. Law 12414, pushed through by Zelensky, which aimed to close independent anti-corruption commissions, was really bad. The public reaction was swift, so much so that he had to cancel his measures and restore the investigative mechanisms. Not only does Ukraine have nothing to do with the Russian dictatorship, it has nothing to do with the Hungarian regime either."
