Milan, 24 July (LaPresse) – "We must uphold the fundamental values enshrined in the United Nations Charter, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary, such as sovereignty, territorial integrity and respect for internationally recognised borders. As a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, we call on China to use its influence on Russia to respect the United Nations Charter and end its war of aggression against Ukraine." These were the words of European Council President Antonio Costa during his meeting in Beijing with Chinese President Xi Jinping, which was also attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
