Turin, 21 July (LaPresse) – Israel has harshly criticised the appeal for Gaza made by 25 countries calling for an end to the war. ‘Israel rejects the joint statement, which is disconnected from reality and sends the wrong message to Hamas,’ reads a statement from the Israeli Foreign Ministry, reported by Ynet. ‘All statements about the absence of a ceasefire agreement and the failure to release hostages should be directed at the terrorist organisation that started this war and is prolonging it.’ ‘The statement does not mention Hamas' role and responsibility in the situation. Hamas is solely responsible for the ongoing suffering on both sides,’ the ministry emphasised.
