Turin, 17 July (LaPresse) – President Donald Trump underwent vascular tests after experiencing swelling in his legs, but all results were within normal limits. This was stated by White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt, as reported by ABC News. Leavitt explained that Trump had noticed ‘mild swelling in his lower limbs,’ prompting the White House medical team to conduct an evaluation. ‘The president underwent a comprehensive examination, which included vascular diagnostic studies. Bilateral venous Doppler ultrasounds of the lower extremities were performed, which showed chronic venous insufficiency, a benign and common condition, especially in individuals over the age of 70,’ Leavitt said in a briefing at the White House. There was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease, and an echocardiogram showed normal heart structure and function, Leavitt added, emphasising that all test results were ‘within normal limits.’ Leavitt also commented on photos circulating online showing slight bruising on the back of the president's hand, attributing them to ‘mild soft tissue irritation caused by frequent handshakes.’ ‘The president is in excellent health,’ the White House spokeswoman assured.
