Turin, 11 July (LaPresse) – FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is reportedly considering resigning amid a bitter clash between the Bureau and the Department of Justice over the fallout from the release of the dossier on Jeffrey Epstein. CNN reports this, citing several informed sources. The internal dispute over the case, the sources say, culminated in a meeting on Wednesday attended by Bongino, Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. Bongino and Patel were reportedly pressed about whether they were the sources of an article claiming that the FBI wanted more information to be released but was being blocked by the Justice Department. Bongino denied leaking that information to NewsNation, which published the story, although he did not sign a statement defending the review mentioned in the article. The sources said that Bongino has not yet made a final decision and may continue in her role.
