Turin, July 10 (LaPresse) – Israel is determined to bring all hostages home and is willing to end the war if Hamas accepts its conditions. This was stated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a lengthy video message from Washington, in which he said he informed the hostages' families of this position. “I told them we are working to secure the release of half of the hostages, alive and dead, in exchange for a temporary 60-day ceasefire,” he said, as reported by the Times of Israel. “At the start of this ceasefire, negotiations will begin to permanently end the war—a permanent ceasefire. To achieve this, the minimum conditions we’ve set must be met: Hamas must disarm, Gaza must be demilitarized, and Hamas must no longer hold any governmental or military power. These are our fundamental conditions.”
“If this goal can be achieved through negotiations, that’s excellent. If not within 60 days, we will achieve it by other means—by using force, the force of our heroic army,” Netanyahu added. “We’ve said the same about Iran and eliminating the nuclear threat. If this can be achieved through 60 days of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, great. If not, we’ll achieve it in another way.”
