France-United Kingdom: Paris and London coordinate nuclear deterrence

Rome, 10 July (LaPresse) – France and the United Kingdom are ready to “coordinate” their nuclear deterrence and protect Europe from any “extreme threat”. During a state visit to the United Kingdom, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will sign a new declaration today, which ‘will affirm for the first time that the two countries' respective deterrents are independent but can be coordinated,’ the British Ministry of Defence and the French presidency said, adding that ‘there is no extreme threat to Europe that would not provoke a response from both countries.’
