Milan, 7 July (LaPresse) – Roman Starovoit has been removed from his post as Russian Transport Minister. Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Andrei Nikitin as interim Transport Minister. Putin had previously met with Nikitin at the Kremlin, where he offered him the new position. ‘Andrei Sergeevich, I would like to offer you another step forward in your career and the position of interim Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation,’ Putin told him. ‘Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin greatly appreciates your entrepreneurial and personal qualities, as well as the results you have achieved in a relatively short time.’ This was reported by the Tass news agency. Nikitin had been Deputy Minister of Transport since February. Previously, he had been head of the Novgorod Region since 2017.
