Kerrville, (United States), 6 July (LaPresse/AP) – The death toll from the devastating floods caused by the storm that hit central Texas has risen to at least 51.
Twenty-seven people are missing. The official figure provided by the authorities is still 43 victims and is likely to rise in the worst-hit area of Kerr County. The authorities also said at a press conference on Saturday that 15 of the victims were children. Governor Greg Abbott promised that teams would work around the clock to rescue and recover victims. The number of missing persons has yet to be confirmed, apart from 27 girls who were at a girls' summer camp.
