Spain, Weber: "Sánchez is isolated, pushing the country away from the EU and NATO"

Madrid (Spain), July 5 (LaPresse) – Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez “is totally isolated and is trying to distance Spain from the EU and NATO just to ensure his political survival,” said Manfred Weber, President of the European People’s Party (EPP), during the Spanish Popular Party Congress currently taking place in Madrid.

“No one listens to him anymore, no one — not even his fellow socialists,” Weber stated.

He added that the EU was “shocked” that Sánchez “signed the final declaration during the NATO summit without having the courage to say anything during the meeting,” but “then went outside and made public statements” against allocating 5% of GDP to defense spending.

“Corruption is getting closer and closer to Sánchez,” Weber emphasized.
