Madrid (Spain), July 5 (LaPresse) – At least 18 people were injured, many of them lightly, in a fire that broke out last night on board a Ryanair plane at Palma de Mallorca airport in Spain, according to Spanish media.

Six people were hospitalized, reports Diario de Mallorca. The incident caused moments of intense panic, and passengers had to be evacuated through the aircraft’s emergency exits. Some were injured after jumping onto the runway directly from the plane’s wings.

The events occurred just after 12:30 a.m. this Saturday. The coordination center, reports El País, received a call about a fire inside a Ryanair aircraft that was on the runway preparing for takeoff.

In a video posted on social media by an airport worker, the plane can be seen with several people walking on one of the wings and jumping onto the runway.
