Rome, 5 July (LaPresse) – After Hamas presented its response to the proposal for a ceasefire and an agreement for the release of hostages, Israel is preparing to send a delegation for close talks, probably by tomorrow. This was reported by Channel 12, adding that Israel began to analyse Hamas' response in depth last night. The Israeli side estimated in advance that some gaps could emerge in the organisation's response, mainly regarding the deployment of IDF forces inside the Strip in the phase following the cessation of hostilities, the regulation of humanitarian aid entering Gaza and the issue of guarantees that the United States and other countries will provide. Now they are assessing how Hamas' response corresponds to the guidelines set by Israel and whether agreements can be reached. Hamas officially announced that it had provided its response to the mediators ‘in a positive spirit’ and made it clear that it was ‘ready with all seriousness to immediately begin a round of negotiations on the implementation mechanism of the proposed framework.’ According to a report by the Saudi channel Al-Hadath, the organisation's response was positive but also included “a request for minor changes”. These are the requests for changes at the heart of the negotiations.
