Milan, July 1 (LaPresse) – “We’ll have to take a look.” That’s how former U.S. President Donald Trump responded to reporters asking about the possibility of expelling Elon Musk. Trump spoke just before departing for Florida.
“We might need to deploy the Doge on Elon. You know what the Doge is? The ‘monster’ that might have to go back and eat Elon,” the tycoon added. A few hours earlier on his platform Truth, Trump had threatened Musk, warning that without federal subsidies, the Tesla CEO would “probably have to go back home to South Africa.” He also suggested that the Doge—the Department of Government Efficiency, once overseen by Musk—should review subsidies to Musk’s companies to save “a lot of federal money.”
This new back-and-forth between Trump and Musk comes after Musk’s latest criticisms of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” a major fiscal and spending legislation pushed by the U.S. president, which is currently debated in the Senate and struggling to gain Republican support.
