Frankfurt (Germany), 27 June (LaPresse) – The German Federal Prosecutor's Office has brought charges against Syrian citizen Mohammad A., believed to be an alleged supporter of ISIS and suspected of participating in a plan to attack Taylor Swift's concert in Vienna. ‘As a responsible minor, the defendant is sufficiently suspected of supporting a terrorist organisation abroad and of having prepared a serious act of violence that endangers the state,’ the prosecutor's office said. According to the information available, "Mohammad A. has adhered to the ideology of the terrorist organisation Islamic State (IS) since at least April 2024. Between mid-July and August 2024, he was in contact with a young Austrian who was planning a bomb attack on a concert by singer Taylor Swift in Vienna. The defendant assisted the young man in the preparations, including translating bomb-making instructions from Arabic and contacting an ISIS member abroad via the Internet. In addition, the defendant provided the young man with a model oath of allegiance to ISIS, which the young man used to join the organisation. The Public Prosecutor's Office notes that the suspect is currently at large.
