Syria, Media: Damascus Does Not Rule Out Peace Deal with Israel

Turin, June 25 (LaPresse) – Syrian officials, in private, are not ruling out the possibility of reaching a peace agreement with Israel before the end of U.S. President Donald Trump's term, according to Israeli public broadcaster Kan, citing a source familiar with the matter.
There have been no diplomatic relations between the two nations since the founding of both countries, and since 1967 Israel has occupied a large portion of the Golan Heights along the border—an annexation Syria considers illegitimate.
