Rome, June 19 (LaPresse) – The IDF Home Front Command has confirmed that Iran launched at least one ballistic missile equipped with a cluster warhead toward central Israel, reports the Times of Israel. The cluster warhead separates during descent, at an altitude of about 7 kilometers, dispersing approximately 20 smaller submunitions over an area with an 8-kilometer radius. These submunitions are not self-propelled and fall to the ground randomly. An Israeli military official explained that such a missile poses a threat to a much wider area compared to other Iranian ballistic warheads, although the explosion of each individual cluster bomb is much smaller.
