Tehran, June 19 (LaPresse) – "By now, the whole world should know that Iran acts solely in self-defense. Even in the face of the most severe aggressions against our people, Iran has so far responded only against the Israeli regime and not against those who support and assist it," wrote Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on X.
"Just as Netanyahu fabricated this war to destroy diplomacy, the world should be deeply alarmed by the increasing attempts of the declining Israeli regime to get help from others and to expand the flames of conflict in the region and beyond," he explained.
"Iran has proven with facts what it has always publicly declared: we have never sought nor will ever seek nuclear weapons. Otherwise, what better pretext could we have to develop those inhumane weapons than the current aggression by the only nuclear-armed regime in the region?" he continued.
"Iran will continue to exercise its right to self-defense, with pride and courage, and we will make sure that the aggressor regrets and pays for its grave mistake. With the exception—he concluded—of the illegitimate, genocidal, and occupying Israeli regime, we remain committed to diplomacy. As in the past, we are serious and forward-looking."
