Rome, 14 June (LaPresse) – IDF spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin stated that over 70 Israeli Air Force fighter jets took part in a night-time operation in Tehran to secure freedom of action over the Iranian capital. Approximately 40 targets were hit in the attack, including air defence systems and related resources. During the operation, Israeli Air Force (IAF) fighter jets and drones flew over Tehran for about two and a half hours, Defrin explained. ‘Dozens of aircraft are flying freely over Tehran, thanks to the attack that eliminated the threat of Iranian air defence systems,’ he said. According to Defrin, this is the deepest area of Iran in which the air force has ever operated. ‘Tehran is no longer immune; the capital is exposed to Israeli attacks,’ he stressed.
