Rome, 9 June (LaPresse) – Ten protesters were arrested during clashes with police in downtown Los Angeles. This was reported by the Californian city's police chief, Jim McDonnell, at a press conference. CNN reports. "Our job is not to divide communities or politicise law enforcement. Our job is simply to ensure everyone's safety,‘ McDonnell clarified, speaking of the ’deep fear and anxiety‘ in the community following the immigration control measures. He then assured that the department is ’committed to ensuring transparency, accountability and treating every Los Angeles resident with respect, regardless of their immigration status."
