Damascus, June 5 (LaPresse) – A spokesperson for the Islamic Resistance Front, a new unrecognized militia in Syria, claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks on Israel that occurred Tuesday, promising that this is only the beginning of the group’s fight against Israel. This was reported by the Times of Israel. Alongside the Islamic Resistance Front, a group calling itself the Mohammed Deif Brigade also claimed the attack. Neither claim could be immediately verified. The spokesperson, identified only as Abu Qasem, stated in a recording released by the Lebanese pro-Hezbollah broadcaster Al-Mayadeen that the rocket launch was a response to “the massacres committed by Israel in Palestine, the daily Israeli attacks in Syria, and the wave of normalization between the current Syrian regime and Israel.”
