Milan, June 3 (LaPresse) – Andriy Yermak, head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office, will travel to the United States, according to the Kyiv Independent, citing a source close to the presidential office.

The trip follows the second round of talks between Kyiv and Moscow held yesterday in Istanbul, which, like the first meeting on May 16 (also in Turkey), ended without a breakthrough on a ceasefire or peace deal.

“If the Istanbul meeting leads nowhere, it will be clear that harsh new sanctions are urgently needed, including the EU’s 18th package and especially the severe sanctions promised by President Trump,” Zelensky said from Vilnius.

After the talks, Yermak reiterated the call for sanctions: “The Russians are doing everything possible to avoid a ceasefire and prolong the war. Right now, it is crucial to implement new sanctions. Rationality is not a characteristic of Russia,” he posted on X.
