London (United Kingdom), 30 May (LaPresse/AP) – Influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate will return to the United Kingdom to defend themselves against charges of rape, human trafficking and other offences. Their lawyers have announced the decision. In January 2024, the prosecution authorised the indictment of the Tates, who have dual US and British citizenship and moved to Romania in 2016. However, it was only on Wednesday that the Crown Prosecution Service announced the charges involving several women. Andrew Tate, 38, faces 10 charges relating to three women, including rape, bodily harm, human trafficking and exploitation of prostitution for financial gain. Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges relating to one woman, including rape, human trafficking and bodily harm. Romanian courts have issued an extradition order for the two men to be returned to the UK once the trial in Romania has concluded. The Tates will return to England at the end of the trials in Romania.
