Turin, May 30 (LaPresse) – Germany will decide whether to approve new arms supplies to Israel based on an assessment of the humanitarian situation in Gaza. This was stated by Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in an interview with the newspaper Sueddeutsche Zeitung, as reported by The Guardian. Wadephul questioned whether what is happening in Gaza complies with international law. "We are examining the situation and, if necessary, will authorize further arms shipments based on this assessment," he explained. The minister also stated that Israel must be able to defend itself, including with German weapon systems.
