Brussels, 26 May (LaPresse) – "The good news is that the US tariffs, i.e. the planned 50% tariffs on products from the European Union, will be postponed by about a month. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who made this possible in talks with the US President. Our task now is to use this pause to try to find solutions that will prevent tariffs from rising on both sides of the Atlantic. It is important for citizens that we take action in this regard, and we will work towards this as soon as possible." These were the words of German Agriculture Minister Alois Rainer on his arrival at the Agriculture and Fisheries Council in Brussels.
