Rome, 23 May (LaPresse) – ‘It's shameful. It's a lack of respect for international law and human dignity.’ The Vice-President of the EU Commission, Spain's Teresa Ribera, does not mince her words when describing the situation in Gaza. In an interview with La Repubblica, she accuses the Netanyahu government of fuelling anti-Semitism. ‘Of course, we all believe that the freedom of the hostages is very important, but so is respect for the Palestinian people,’ she explains. "More than 53,000 people have been killed since 2023. The methods used by Israeli governments in Gaza, even with regard to humanitarian aid, are shameful."
