Melbourne (Australia), 23 May (LaPresse) – Four people have died and one is missing in Australia following record flooding that hit the east coast along the coast of New South Wales north of Sydney. Approximately 50,000 people have been left stranded due to flooding after days of heavy rain. The low-pressure system that caused the flooding moved further south towards Sydney and its surroundings on Friday. Of the four victims, three were people trapped in cars, while the body of a man was found on the veranda of his flooded home. The person reported missing is a 49-year-old man who has not been heard from since he was walking near a flooded road in Nymboida. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and New South Wales Governor Christopher Minns visited the affected areas today.
