Washington (United States), 22 May (LaPresse) – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting in which two members of staff at the Israeli embassy in Washington, a man and a woman, were shot dead as they left an event at the Jewish Museum in the US capital. The suspect shouted ‘Free, free Palestine’ after being arrested, according to police reports. The suspect approached a group of four people and opened fire, Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith said at a press conference. The suspect, identified as Elias Rodriguez, 30, of Chicago, was detained after the shooting by event security personnel, Smith explained.
