Rome, May 18 (LaPresse) – Pro-European candidate Nicușor Dan is reportedly leading over nationalist George Simion in Romania’s presidential runoff election, according to Adevarul. The CURS exit poll puts Dan ahead with 54.1% of the votes, while Simion trails with 45.9%. A second poll by Avangarde gives Dan 54.9% and Simion 45.1%. Romanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Andrei Țărnea stated that “signs of Russian interference are once again visible” during the runoff.
