Milan, 16 May (LaPresse) – ‘The citizens of Ukraine and around the world have paid the price for Putin's aggression in Ukraine and across Europe, now he must pay the price for rejecting peace.’ So said British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in a statement released by the British government. ‘Putin's tactics of prevarication and delay, while continuing to kill and cause bloodshed across Ukraine, are intolerable,’ he added ahead of today's European Political Community (EPC) summit in Tirana. ‘Over the last three years, Ukraine has fought for peace and security, while Russia has sent thousands of young men and women to their deaths and undermined global stability,’ Starmer stressed. Together with the United States and more than 30 other partners, we have been clear that we will not tolerate Russia delaying a ceasefire. A complete and unconditional ceasefire must be agreed, and if Russia is not willing to sit down at the negotiating table, Putin will have to pay the price."
