Milan, May 13 (LaPresse) – “We have confirmed that President Zelensky is ready and will be in Turkey. Yesterday, President Trump issued a very strong and clear statement in which he said he expects both leaders to be present in Turkey. He is also considering going there himself. I believe that if Vladimir Putin refuses to come to Turkey, it will be the definitive signal that Russia does not want to end this war, that Russia does not want and is not ready for any negotiations.”
This was stated by the head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, speaking online during the session of the 2025 Copenhagen Democracy Summit. According to the Ukrainian presidency, the debate was moderated by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former NATO Secretary General from 2009 to 2014 and co-chair of the International Working Group on Security Issues and Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic Integration.
