Thus Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Channel One, regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to start direct negotiations with Ukraine on May 15 in Istanbul. ‘A lasting peace can only be achieved through serious negotiations, and the readiness for such negotiations has now been demonstrated by the president’ Putin, Peskov stressed.
